"Do not be afraid . . . for nothing will be impossible for God"
-Luke 1:30 & 37 ~ The angel Gabriel's words to the Virgin Mary.
The Angel Gabriel has always been a messenger of love. His first words, "Be Not Afraid" opened the door of love to a poor unwed mother, the Mother of God. The mission of the Gabriel Project is to plant the seed of God's love within the hearts of women who feel lost, alone and afraid—whether rich or poor, s ingle, married, young or older. The need in an unplanned pregnancy is one of understanding and caring. We offer a resource network to support a mother's birth alternative THE GIFT OF LIFE to give a hope for tomorrow.
At the heart of the Gabriel Project are the women who serve as mentors, Gabriel Angels. They are a living example of God's love and compassion to the women they serve.
Angels meet regularly with the expectant mother to help her identify, plan and set goals to obtain self sufficiency. The relationship can last through the duration of the pregnancy and until the baby is one year old.

"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you. Before you were born, I dedicated you, . . ." - Jeremiah 1:5
The Gabriel Project ministry provides spiritual, emotional and material support to families in crisis or unexpected pregnancies. The support of a Gabriel Angel can make a wonderful difference by offering a spirit of hope as the new expectant parents work through each day.
Please consider taking an active role in supporting the family unit and a culture of life by becoming a Gabriel Project Angel. Spanish-speaking Angels are also in need to fully serve our St. Austin community.
Training is required of all new and current volunteers and offered quarterly at a cost of $35. The cost covers lunch and training materials for basic training and for over 15 different continuing education sessions held throughout the year.
If you have a calling to join our St. Austin Gabriel Project team and require financial assistance to attend the training, please contact our St. Austin Gabriel Project Coordinator Carmen Adams.
Donations of new or gently used baby and maternity items and unopened baby diapers and wipes are always needed. Donations can be dropped off at the parish office during business hours. Your support of this pro-life ministry will help to serve all those in need that call upon our parish.
The Gabriel Project Ministry at St. Austin conducts an annual Baby Drive for material and financial donations to support the ministry. If you'd like to help with this effort or if you have a question about donating an item, please contact our parish Gabriel Project Coordinator, Carmen Adams, at 512-417-8309.
"Even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor, are masterpieces of God's creation, made in his own image, destined to live forever, and deserving of the utmost reverence and respect."
