At the close of this year’s Catholic Schools Week, we present some memories from the St. Austin’s Class of 1999. The last names have been omitted to protect the innocent.
--Mary “My fondest memory is knowing Mr. Wiggins.* Mr. Wiggins understands us, has fun with us, is a great high school preparer, and makes us laugh!”
--Anna “My fondest memory of St. Austin’s is probably the 8th grade trip to Port Aransas.” --Robert “My fondest memory at St. Austin’s was going on sports trips.” --Nathan “My fondest memory is winning first in football.” -- Casey “My fondest memory of my years at St. Austin School was when I did my homework for the first time.” --Kaiti “My fondest memory is when Mr. Wiggins had the guys in our class give the girls corsages and chocolates for Valentine”s Day.” --Christina “My fondest memories of my years at St. Austin School are our trip to San Antonio. What I’ve learned that will stay with me the rest of my life? I’ll answer that in 30 years!” --Luke “Something that will stay with me through life is the saying ‘We learn not for school but for life.’” --Ian “Something I learned at St. Austin’s that will stay with me the rest of my life is that ‘I don’t know’ is not an answer.” --Callie “My funniest memory of St. Austin School is leaving the fish in the toilets and sinks on April Fool’s Day.” --Jason “My fondest memory is when I won the Youth Essay Contest in 7th grade because I was the only one in the school that entered.”
*Note: Marty Wiggins was a teacher at St. Austin School for many years.
Say a little prayer of blessing for the Class of 1999 and for all the allumni of our parish school.
