K of C Relief Efforts for Ukraine
Parishioners might recall that in March 2022 the St. Austin’s Knights raised $1900 for the K of C Ukrainian Solidarity Fund. K of C Supreme recently released a progress report on its relief efforts in Ukraine. After a little more than a year, the combined contributions of over 60,000 individuals and 4700 K of C councils worldwide surpassed $20 million for the Fund!
Additionally, the Knights distributed 6.8 million pounds of goods, 200,000 care packages and 60,000 rosaries. K of C Mercy Centers along the Polish border welcomed over 300,000 refugees in the first 3 months of the conflict.
This is an example of how a local charitable effort, when united with others, can have a big impact. It also exemplifies two of the Order’s founding principles: Charity and Unity. St. Austin parishioners’ support of our fundraising activities enable us to carry out our mission, in Austin and around the world. Thank You!
