Our faith invites us beyond our everyday lives where we want clear, crisp, executable solutions and answers to every challenge and question. Our faith takes us into mystery, not unlike falling in love, that throws us into exciting confusion, curious questions, and unsettling uncertainty. The experience awakens us to new possibilities, a different reality than we’d envisioned. Our faith calls us to engage with the eternal and ephemeral, to build relationships, to serve others. It calls us to use our skills in new ways. Faith places us in situations in which we develop new talents. The mystery of our faith stretches us into new and sometimes uncomfortable places.
That’s where we find ourselves as we negotiate our new spaces. There’s confusion, questions, and uncertainty. How can we ready ourselves for mystery? Jesus brought His friends apart to experience the great mystery of Transfiguration. As we go through our transition, let’s follow His lead by taking time with friends or alone to refresh, renew, and restore.
