Delight delayed - but not for long! We're postponing our Happy Everything Parade for a week and pray that the weather will be kinder to us then. The forecast for this weekend looks too grim, even for our intrepid shepherds who have no problem in climes as severe as North Pole, Alaska or Rochester, New York with its yearly 90 inches of lake-effect snow.
This year of pandemic penance caused us to make a lot of lemonade from oh so many lemons! While disappointed, we're safe at home. We ask that you will take some time to pray for the unhoused, for those without heat, for those without food. Here's a decade old prayer that remains relevant to this moment:
Lord, bless them with protection from the elements, bless them to have sufficiency of food and clothing, bless them with joy and peace of mind. Deliver those without shelter, without heat, those without adequate food or clothing, those without hope. Let them find rest, warmth, and a residence. Bless them with the security of knowing your love and protection each day. And give us the strength and courage to work for them, advocate for them, see them, and love them. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Next weekend we'll let the good times roll and celebrate the joy of all things February! Read on for details. As an added treat, we'll be posting more delicious soup recipes to warm you.
