Christmas Basket Project is a beloved Advent tradition at St. Austin that provides gifts for the season as well as HEB gift cards for holiday meals to over 200 households each year.
The families we support are those served by our own St. Vincent de Paul Society, Outreach to Persons in Need ministry, our Gabriel Project ministry, and a non-profit organization that aids families who have survived trauma.
We serve our neighbors in need through this ministry with the joy of the Christmas message. Parishioners may buy gifts for an individual, sponsor an entire family, or donate towards the purchase of HEB cards, or bring "stocking stuffer" items for our elderly or persons with special needs adoptees.

How can you get involved?
Buy gifts!
Visit the Christmas Bazaar in Paulist Hall on Dec. 3rd and choose a name or names from the Ron Gibson Memorial Giving Tree. Purchase gifts and return them the following week.
Sponsor a family!
If you would like to sponsor an entire family, please email us at our NEW EMAIL ADDRESS [email protected], by Nov. 27th with the (general) size of family you would like to sponsor. You will receive your specific instructions around Sunday, December 3.
Purchase $25 or $50 HEB gift cards!
The families we serve use the gift cards to purchase food for their family’s Christmas dinner. Bring the cards to our Thanksgiving Mass on Wednesday, November 22 at 6pm or to our parish office during business hours.
Make a financial contribution!
Your financial support of Christmas Basket Project allows us to buy the HEB gift cards we need for all 200+ individuals and families to have a special Christmas meal. Contributions can be made through VENMO, cash, check, or any of our online donation options.-

Donate little extras!
For the 150 older adults living in Housing Authority and Project Transitions housing, we provide little “extras” with the HEB gift cards we give them. Please donate 2 oz. hand lotions, lip balm, men’s socks and /or women’s socks. Donations will be accepted:-
at the Holiday Fair on Dec. 3rd

at any Mass the following weekend (Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 9th and 10th)

Contribute to St. Austin’s for HEB Gift Cards. Mark your contribution for “Christmas Baskets.”
NOW through Nov. 27
Adopt an entire family. Email [email protected] to request the size of family you would like to adopt.
Sun., Dec. 3
Come to the Christmas Bazaar in Paulist Hall (open 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) and pick a name from the Giving Tree to purchase a gift or gifts for.
Sun. Dec. 10
Drop off your purchased, LABELED, gifts in the Parking Garage between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 16
Delivery Day! Come to the St. Austin Parking Garage at 9 a.m. to pick up gift boxes to deliver to families and individuals in need. It’s a beautiful family experience, so bring the kids!
