The Need - Simple comforts to share with those served by the Humanitarian Respite Center in the Rio Grande Valley. The Center is part of the ongoing response of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. It is an effort fully endorsed and supported by Catholic Charities of Central Texas.
What to bring - Packaged snack items for the long bus trips they face would be most welcome. Specifically they've asked for individually packaged bulk packs of -
Animal Crackers, Teddy Grahams, or Pepperidge Farms cookies
Granola Bars (and similar snack bars)
Nuts
Raisins
Trail Mix
Peanut Butter and/or Cheese Sandwich Crackers
Chips or Pretzels
Nestlé's NIDO Kinder 1+ Milk Powder
Shoe laces
Sanitary napkins,
Toothbrushes,
Toothpaste,
Deodorant
Coloring books & Crayons.
All products requested are available online at Amazon, WalMart, and Target. You can also find them at Costco, Sam's, and HEB. These items are also welcomed by weary travelers - backpacks in good condition, new toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, feminine hygiene products, brushes, combs, razors, soap)
Where to contribute - Bring your donations during office hours from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday or have them shipped directly to the parish office at:
