2022 has arrived and we are off to an energetic start! In spite of the everlasting Corona virus variations, we have a lot going on here. After a lot of work on sewers, gas lines, subterranean water, abatement of toxic materials, and LOTS of twists and turns with getting permits from the City of Austin, actual demolition should begin this coming week. It will happen!!!
We are now, in concert with the Diocese of Austin, embarking on the process of Synodality. Not sure what that is or what Synodality is all about? Then watch for articles and programs on this topic that are coming your way this month. Check out the “Prayer for Synodality” from the Association of US Catholic Priests, which is available on our parish Synod page. website.
Finally, I am happy to announce that Pat Macy, who for many years was the Director of Social Justice Ministry here at St. Austin, will receive the “Drum Major for Justice” award this coming Saturday, January 15. She will be honored at the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Mass to be held at 11 a.m. that day at Holy Cross Parish. All are welcome, and it would be a great tribute to have a nice turnout from St. Austin’s parish there.
