From SVdP on Giving
People often ask how we choose the folks who will receive Christmas Baskets. Families who are served by our Gabriel Project and Outreach to Persons in Need are referred to us, as well as those whom we assist through St. Vincent de Paul, (of course!), including a City of Austin Housing residence and a Project Transitions Housing residence, both of which are in our parish boundaries.
All of these folks must first apply with Blue Santa, which has opened its online application process as of October 11. Here’s a link to apply.
It is important to make sure that each family gets help only once so that more families can be served. Clearing names through Blue Santa helps with this process. Blue Santa serves thousands of children each holiday season and we could not do our job without their involvement.
