Summertime means coming and goings. Fr Paolo is away this week at a workshop on church administration for priests, which is being held in Milwaukee. The president of the Paulists asked him to attend, meaning that there is a pastorate in Fr Paolo’s future.
I am very happy to have my ordination classmate, Fr Dick Sparks, CSP here for the week to help fill in. Paulist Seminarian Mr. Dan Macalinao will be passing through this weekend on his way to a month-long intensive Spanish course in San Antonio. He will then join us at St. Austin for the month of July. And Fr Dave Dwyer, who will be on this weekend (June 3-4) at Horseshoe Bay, will hopefully be here to celebrate the 5:30 p.m.
Mass on June 4. So lots of Paulist comings and goings.
We also have been “celebrating” a lot of funerals in our parish. We celebrate the mercy of God and our faith and hope in the fullness of life for every one of our loved ones. And if you have extra time during the Summer and want to exercise your artistic sensibilities, I recommend to you a film on Youtube. One of my Paulist Brothers (Frank Sabatte) who is an artist, and works with young artists in New York City, recently
informed the Paulists about a short film (20 minutes) produced by The Fordham Center on Religion and Culture on The Catholic Imagination. I found it rather interesting. It opens with an interview of Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York and explores the subject of “Catholic imagination” with several artists. It is worth a watch. You can see it at:

Let me know what you think of it.
Happy Summer!
God bless!
