Around the Mediterranean where many feasts began, early summer is a season of bright sun, long days, and mild temperatures - perfect for celebration. On Thursday we celebrated the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, last Sunday the Most Precious Body and Blood of Christ, before that, the Most Holy Trinity, and two more solemnities - today the Sacred Heart of Jesus and this Wednesday, Sts. Peter & Paul. Fr. Paolo reminded us that these feasts honor the important beliefs, events, and people of our Universal Church. In his homily this morning, Fr. Chuck noted that today's feast is not a celebration of anatomy but of God's deep, tender, and intimate love for us that is complete and full.
Our reflection for the Solemnity of Corpus Christi met many trials along the way. We hope that you’ll take a moment this week to consider the great gift that is ours from our Loving Heavenly Father. Please read the postings on the Eucharist at Liturgy.
We return to numbered Sundays this weekend on the 13th Sunday in Ordinary Time. Our chronological journey with the Gospel of Luke continues through the last Sunday of the liturgical year, the solemnity of Christ the King. To learn more about Luke’s gospel, check out our great illustrated Lectionary Guide.
Just as Fr. Rich left us a gift in the Guide, we gave him a gift he holds deep in his heart. We received a thoughtful thank you with his new contact information. He shares that our thoughts helped him navigate the weeks while awaiting official approval of his assignment as Director of the Paulist Center, Boston. Read his message of gratitude at Farewell.
You created a miracle of hope in under 24 hours! Another expression of thanks for your overwhelming generosity in response to the St. Vincent de Paul Society's special appeal on Monday awaits you at JUSTNews.
With grateful hearts we celebrate other events and announcements – they’re as plentiful as solemnities around our parish! Congratulate our own Myra Leo for her distinction as a Texas Exes Distinguished Alumnus. Read more at Light.
Our pastor reminds us always to pray for vocations. Last Sunday Richard Gaunt, a member of our parish who will soon enter the postulancy of the Order of Friars Minor (the Franciscans), shared his vocation challenge. The Diocese of Austin invites all young men in high school to attend Quo Vadis, a weekend retreat. Read more at Holy Orders & Vocations.
What a joy it was to see the Prayer Blanket ministry in person! They were ironing, sewing, and tying with smiling faces and hearts filled with prayers for those in need of healing and comfort. Learn more about this ministry of love at Prayer Blankets.
As we gather again, our Martha Ministry wonders if perhaps anyone might have borrowed a few things. We’re looking for five or six rectangular ivory tablecloths, blue and white aprons, or any serving pieces. The Marthas haven't yet resumed their loving service to grieving families, but when they do, they’ll need help! Discover what it was like in pre-pandemic days and consider volunteering for The Martha Ministry.
Save the date for the Mass commemorating the tenth anniversary of Fr. Bob Scott’s passing. We’ll celebrate his joyful vocation to the priesthood on Saturday, July 16 at 9:00 a.m. with Mass, memories, and reflections followed by refreshments in the Ministry Center. Please send your memories of a Good Stop with Fr. Bob to us at Bulletin@StAustin.org.
In addition to our weekly briefing on the building, we have new drone footage of the development project. Get an eagle's eye view at Construction Updates.
We’re in search of a Liturgy Coordinator to direct all aspects of our parish liturgical celebrations and work with liturgical volunteers. Help us spread the good news about this employment opportunity – find more at Staff.
This summer weekend, let's find rest in gratitude for the many gifts we enjoy. Let's be mindful that these gifts are from above, from our Heavenly Father, His Infinitely Loving Son, and the Love that flows in, from, and through Them, that is the Holy Spirit.

To close the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, our Graduates & Young Professionals (GAP) invite the St. Austin community to join them in adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. After the 5:30 Mass, a light supper will follow in Antioch, then we’ll return to the Church to pray at 7:30 p.m
Fr. Chuck hoped we’d be able to observe this Solemnity with a Blood Drive this weekend, but the Central Texas blood bank, We Are Blood, couldn’t schedule us until Sunday, July 31. Please mark the date and prepare to roll up your sleeves. More details will follow.
