(men & women, ages 18+)
St. Austin's Adult Volleyball meets every Thursday evening at 7:45 p.m. in the Parish Center/Gym. Open to all parishioners 18 years old or older. You do not need to be at a certain skill level, nor do you need to make a commitment to showing every Thursday. You just show up when you can, and we divide up teams from whoever shows.
For more information, contact Mark.
Volunteers who minister in the church office help with everything from stuffing parish mailers to organizing storage closets to arranging staff appreciation days. If you are interested in this ministry, please email Jennifer.
Martha Ministry prepares and serves a home-cooked meal/reception at the parish on the day of a funeral Mass for family and friends of a deceased parishioner. The ministry requires a desire to provide hospitality to community members experiencing a loss and a willingness to do one of the following: donate food items, prepare food, serve, set-up, clean up or make flower arrangements. Email us for more info or to get involved!
St. Austin’s Nursery is in need of EIM certified adult volunteers! Our nursery cares for children ages 6 mos. through 5 yrs. on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Volunteers are absolutely necessary to keep the nursery open each Sunday morning! Without help, we cannot provide consistent hours each Sunday. If you can spare an hour or two each month, or even each week, please contact Jennifer in the parish office or stop by the nursery and speak with Lucy on Sunday morning.
Outreach to the Homebound and Elderly keeps parishioners with limited mobility connected to The St. Austin’s faith community through telephone calls, visits, cards and transportation to Mass and parish events. The ministry requires a desire to foster community among all members of the parish and to keep in touch with a member. Some volunteers also visit nursing homes to interact with residents on a social and spiritual level. Compliance with Diocesan Ethics & Integrity in Ministry policy is required. Email us for more info or to get involved!
Outreach to the Homebound and Elderly is not the same as taking communion to parishioners and nursing homes -- click here to visit the Communion Outreach page.
Parish Technology Volunteers work with our pastoral staff on website updates, graphic design and posters, social media feeds, YouTube video creation, and other parish communications. There is also the opportunity help establish homily recording and podcasts. Volunteers with network administration experience may be called on to help with our interoffice network and computers. Experience with these media areas is required, but this is a good way to update or expand your skills while serving your parish. Contact Jennifer for more info.
